Volunteer in Canine and Equine Therapy:
Make a Difference in Rehabilitation for People with Health Conditions
What is it about?
Join our Canine and Equine Therapy Volunteer Program in Argentina and gain hands-on experience in this powerful combination of therapeutic practices. If you enjoy working with animals and are passionate about helping people with physical and mental health conditions, this program is perfect for you. You will work across two different placements: one with dogs and the other with horses, providing therapy sessions that have proven benefits in improving mobility, confidence, emotional well-being, and overall quality of life.
You will spend some days of the week assisting with canine therapy, supporting patients as they interact with specially trained dogs. On other days, you will participate in equine therapy sessions, helping during riding lessons for both adults and children with various health conditions. This is an incredible opportunity to make a real difference while learning about two unique therapeutic approaches.
The program is ideal for those studying psychology, physical therapy, occupational therapy, or veterinary medicine. You’ll be guided by experienced supervisors at both centers who will teach you everything you need to know about working with patients and animals in a therapeutic setting. No prior experience is required, but a love for animals and helping people is essential.
Your tasks:
- Assist in canine therapy sessions with dogs and patients
- Help during equine therapy sessions with riders and horses
- Care for and maintain the well-being of the dogs and horses
- Learn the theory behind both therapeutic approaches
- Provide support with the daily operations of the placements
